woo!
- I now have a bachelor's degree in philosophy. I GRADUATED!
- Still trying to figure out the law school thing. Georgetown told me I am in a "small group" of people for first priority in any spaces that open up. I should hear back about Columbia's wait list at the end of the month. Stanford... who knows. And I have to give UT a definite answer by June 23. Before that I need to figure out how to get more money out of them.
- The biggest news...

I'M ENGAGED!!

Yes! When are we getting married? NO IDEA! But I'm very happy and my ring is HUGE! JP totally knew what I wanted... <33333

Now that I've graduated... I sit around doing NOTHING and I'm happy to do it. I start work for the summer sometime in June.

So it looks like my decision is with UT. I paid my deposit but at the time it was only to keep my seat. I'm supposed to be going to Vanderbilt on the 30th but after seeing the new law school rankings in which UT went up and Vandy went down, I'm kind of like eh... I'll stick with the higher ranked one. Which, I know, is probably kind of dumb but whatever. I'm all about prestige.

Vanderbilt did give me a nice scholarship (the Dean's Scholarship) worth $51k over 3 years but it's still not enough to go to such an expensive school like that. UT barely gave me any money so I'm tempted to try to negotiate with them somehow although I'm not exactly sure how yet. I should probably apply for the public interest scholarship but I'm not down with the interviews that go along with that right now.

On another note, I graduate in 2 weeks. I have been such a senior in that I haven't done any work really and now I have to scrounge to actually try to do well on my finals and last papers. So crazy. I really should lock myself in the library but it's so hard being so lazy right now. :P I also haven't done anything for graduation. I still need to:

- See what's up with my graduation photos
- Buy a graduation dress
- Make reservations for my graduation dinner with friends
- Make other reservations for graduation dinner with family
- Send invitations or something to people here in Washington

Yikes. There's just too much to do.

So I got rejected from Harvard today which is totally a shocker. Not. I have yet to hear from Stanford, Columbia, or UofH. I'm still hoping for Columbia.

I went ahead and put my deposit down at UT. I'm really conflicted about Vanderbilt though. It's a school that I MUST see before deciding on it but I can't seem to find the time to actually go see it. Things are really piling up these last couple of weeks, you know, with finals and all. I've slacked this whole semester so I have to somehow try to kick it up a notch to do well in these classes. I'm done with one class' assignments so I just have 4 others to worry about. Ahh. Anyways, I'm hoping I can get down to Nashville before May 1 arrives and I have to pay my deposit.

I am SO ready to graduate. I can't believe it's this close...

I've found that the hardest thing about studying for the LSAT, more than the material itself, is trying not to compare myself to others and trying to keep the faith that I can do well.

I'm officially going to Costa Rica after graduation! So excited! And I think JP and I have decided to go to Peru for spring break since we actually have the same spring break this year. It's fate.

1. Representatives from Vanderbilt, Michigan, and UT made me happy at the Law School Forum.
2. JP makes a really good Taco Salad. We've had it two nights in a row.
3. Work tomorrow :\

I am so glad Obama has the nomination. I hope that people really come out for him come November. I've already claimed it--Obama is our next President, and I refuse to think any other way.

If you have never watched Boondocks on Cartoon Network, you have been missing out. It is one of the rare gems of Black culture today. It is a socially conscious cartoon that is incredibly hilarious. Here is a lost episode about the boycotting of BET. I personally HATE BET myself. It's just stupid television. Although, they are getting a bit better by putting old shows on like Diff'rent Strokes. I guess they can't come up with any good shows themselves.

Oh.my.goodness.

I have once again spent too much money today. I bought this dress:

And 4 lipsticks from MAC. Gotta love free shipping!

I leave for Texas on Friday at 8 a.m. Tomorrow's plans are:

1. Go to the gym.
2. Go to the bank to deposit checks.
3. Clean my room, livingroom, and kitchen.
4. Clean out the refrigerator.
5. Pack.

All of this must be done before JP picks me up tomorrow at 7ish. Ah!

It's been an interesting week. I haven't gotten anything done at all, considering that I have been at JP's house all week. We went to a G-town BLSA (Black Law Students Association) party that was pretty chill, and we went grocery shopping afterwards and Hannah made chocolate chip cookies, and I made a birthday cake for Brad, JP's friend. We went to Hooters the next day with JP's aunt's old tenant from Germany, and then Brad came over and we sang him happy bday and stuff. Then the next day JP and I got some Persian food and walked around downtown Silver Spring and then I guess that leads up to yesterday when JP's aunt had a bar-b-que. The food was okay and a bunch of JP's friends came and it was a good time as usual. Today I went to Sephora and got a new foundation and powder and a brush. I am still a little bit skeptical about wearing foundation, but for some reason have been wanting to. I guess I feel like I should be doing more womanly things now that I'm older.

Now I'm letting JP take a nap for a little while longer before he finally takes me back home and works on his Law Review stuff. And then I can get back to working on law school crap. And going to the gym again.

I'm thinking about staying in Houston for an extra week, but am contemplating whether or not that is economically wise.

I just spent $1050.00 on an LSAT prep course at Princeton Review. Without my Phi Alpha Delta discount it would have been $1250. Why is all of this so outrageously expensive?

I AM OFFICIALLY DONE WITH ALL OF MY FINALS! I am SO happy. I am just going to chill for the next week, and help JP clean up his place since he just moved and can't really do it himself because of his finals. Then I am going to go to the gym and shed some pounds! So here is my schedule for next semester. I am not exactly happy with it so it may be tweaked in the upcoming months:

Mondays & Thursdays
1. PHIL-230 - Meaning & Purpose in the Arts
2. JLS-104 - Intro to Systems of Justice
3. JLS-309 - Justice and Public Policy

Tuesdays
1. EDU-502 - Managing Pupils with Behavior Disorders

Wednesdays
1. JLS-308 - Justice, Morality, and The Law.

I'll be posting more since I'll have more time now. Yay :)
